Production of wine and oil near the agricultural company of the owners. Historical restaurant of the lucchesia, situated on the skillful river of the Serchio, offonda its roots in the centuries: its construction, in fact laughed them to 1368. From then, like then, qualities and tradition make part of the kitchen of the premises.
Opened all the year, except the month of August, from the 24 to 2 January comprised and the day of Passover. Day of closing the saturday. The Antica Locanda di Sesto is a charming restaurant on the right bank of the Serchio. It was built in 1368, as shown by the marble plaque located at the entrance, when the rich and aristocratic Lucchese merchants constructed country homes to spend their summers, but also to reinvest part of their handsome earnings in that land who donated the accumulation first of capital, necessary for the birth of commerce. The love of the land, rooted in the Lucchese mentality and genuine and local products was the element that has united the various owners over the centuries, only to name a few: Count Carlo De Nobili, Alaide Nannizzi and Raffaello and Lamberto Tomei. Today, the inn is managed by Ida Tomei, Raffaella and Adriano Barattini, their sons Aurelio and Lamberto, people that unite Emilian courtesy with Lucchese love for genuine products. The family management of the restaurant ensures courtesy and warmth, which you feel as soon as you enter the restaurant, where noises and voices are softened, and you can breathe in the sweet air of "good things of yore." Yes, of yore because the owners have chosen quality as a symbol by purchasing the vineyards and olive groves in Maolina and personally looking after production. Even our old markets would be proud of Ida, Raffaele and Adriano, because yet again, the inn has remained in the hands of those who want to protect the land and its fruits. A difficult choice and not always understood by all, but this is what makes the difference between eating and savouring food, between simple diners and true gourmands.
